About Kim

Kim Houston BSc (Hons), MBPsS, Dip (AS) CABC, CCAB is a consultant in feline behaviour, and a published international author. She graduated from Liverpool John Moores University top of her year with a First-Class honors degree in Applied Psychology before gaining a Postgraduate Degree in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from the University of Southampton.

Kim runs a cat-only behaviour consultancy, which has been in operation for over 20 years. Kim consults with clients throughout the UK and worldwide, helping resolve cat behaviour problems by taking a holistic, positive and science-based approach. In most cases, the behaviour can be successfully modified. She has prevented many cats from being euthanised or rehomed as well as improving the relationship of countless cats and their owners.

Kim is immensely proud of the expert and professional services that she offers and is well respected in the feline community. Ultimately, Kim loves cats, and they love her! She has spent countless years learning about and understanding this wonderful species, and she clearly get them!

When not consulting she regularly contributes to magazines, the national press and TV. Kim’s eagerly awaited book ’21-days to the Perfect Cat’, was published by Hamlyn and was released worldwide. Kim also sits on the Your Cat magazine panel of experts as the feline behaviour expert; and as well as writing regular articles, she also answers reader questions on a monthly basis. Over the years Kim has shared her life with numerous cats and dogs, which have enriched her life and brought many smiles. The current menagerie includes eight cats, Grace, Hewey, Ralph, Brodie, Villanelle, Rory, Fred, and Alice, who have all got Kim wrapped around their little paws!!
